How do I book a scooter on RideAway?

Download the RideAway app from the App Store or Google Play Store. Select your city, choose your plan - Hourly, Daily, or Monthly - complete KYC verification via DigiLocker, pay your plan amount, and your scooter is ready for pickup. The whole process takes under 10 minutes.

What plans are available and what do they cost?

We offer three plans - Hourly starting at Rs. 70/hr, Daily starting at Rs. 450/day, and Monthly starting at Rs. 4,500/month. Monthly is our best value plan for daily commuters.

What documents do I need to ride?

DigiLocker is a Government of India initiative that lets you store and share verified digital documents securely. We use DigiLocker for KYC to ensure every rider on our platform is genuinely verified - making every ride safer for you and for our host partners.

Every RideAway scooter is IoT-secured - tracked in real time and protected with Remote Engine Kill. Every rider is DigiLocker KYC verified before their first booking. Our automated Trust Score system blocks low-rated riders from future bookings.

What is the daily kilometre limit?

Each plan includes 150 km per day. Usage beyond this is charged at Rs. 3 per km, added to your next invoice.

What if the scooter breaks down during my ride?

Contact us through the app immediately and share your live location. For mechanical breakdowns not caused by rider misuse, we arrange towing support within city limits and aim to resolve or replace within 2-4 hours.

Can I take the scooter outside the city?

Accepted Answer

Scooters are for within-city use by default. Outstation trips require prior written approval from RideAway. Unauthorised outstation usage may trigger remote vehicle immobilisation via our IoT system.

What happens if I get a traffic challan?

Challans received during your rental period are your responsibility. We will notify you via the app and the amount must be cleared within 7 days.

What if I damage the vehicle?

Any damage caused during your rental is your responsibility as per our Rider Terms & Conditions. Our team will assess the damage at the time of return and communicate the repair cost to you directly through the app.

How do I return the scooter?

Return the scooter to the designated pickup point at or before your agreed return time. Our team inspects the vehicle with you at return. Early returns are welcome with no penalty.

How do I list my bike on RideAway?

WhatsApp us or contact us through the RideAway app with your bike model, year, and city. Submit your RC, Aadhaar, insurance copy, and bank details. We install a free IoT device, sign a Host Agreement, and you start earning - typically within 7-10 working days.

How much can I earn per month?

Hosts earn 65-70% of all rental revenue generated on their vehicle - approximately Rs. 2,000-3,000 per month per bike. Earnings vary based on your city, plan type, and vehicle utilisation.

When and how do I get paid?

Payouts are processed by the 7th of every month directly to your registered bank account via UPI or NEFT. A digital earnings statement is shared for every payout.

Yes. Every rider on RideAway is verified through DigiLocker - a Government of India digital document platform - before they can make their first booking. Our Trust Score system automatically blocks low-rated riders from accessing the platform.

What if my bike gets damaged?

RideAway assists in damage assessment and recovery from the rider as per our platform terms. Our IoT system, DigiLocker KYC, and Trust Score together ensure only responsible, verified riders access your vehicle.

What is the IoT device installed on my bike?

We install an Ajjas GPS tracking device that enables real-time location monitoring and Remote Engine Kill. It is fully safe, installed free of cost by our technician, and remains our property. You can track your bike at any time.

Can I use my own bike whenever I need it?

Yes. Give us 5 days advance notice and we will block those dates. A minimum of 20 days per calendar month must be kept available for the host programme.

What documents are required to become a host?

Vehicle Registration Certificate (RC), Aadhaar card, valid vehicle insurance copy, PUC certificate, and bank account details for payout.

Is there a minimum commitment period?

Yes, the minimum commitment is 3 months. After that the agreement auto-renews monthly and either party can exit with 30 days written notice.

What happens if a rider doesn't return my bike on time?

Our operations team actively follows up on all overdue returns. We use IoT tracking to locate the vehicle and can remotely immobilise it if needed until the rider complies.

What if a rider steals my bike?

You must file an FIR within 24 hours and share a copy with RideAway. We immediately share all GPS tracking data with law enforcement and pursue full rider accountability as per our platform terms.
